Tony Starch: Innovative Green Chemistry platform molecules
Our current manufacturing industry relies heavily on the use of chemicals in production processes. Many of these chemicals are toxic and have a high carbon footprint and energy consumption to produce. The industry faces the challenge of finding sustainable alternatives to chemicals. Rodenburg has developed a proof of concept of a new production process for a starch-based platform molecule for the future of the chemical biobased industry.
In a world where sustainability plays an increasingly important role, we face the challenge of transforming the manufacturing industry. This is because our current manufacturing industry relies heavily on the use of chemicals in production processes. Many of these chemicals are toxic and have a high CO2 footprint and energy consumption to produce.
Tony Starch
We, at Rodenburg, have developed a revolutionary idea to change this. We have a proof of concept of a new production process for a starch-based platform molecule, for the future of the chemical biobased industry.
Imagine a future where chemical production is based on starch; a renewable resource that significantly reduces our CO2 emissions. This project goes beyond just a concept. We will build and test a pilot plant, produce batches of this platform molecule and define the optimal process parameters. We call our project Tony Starch.
The Outcome
In collaboration with leading customers, we will validate the applications, which will help us create a convincing business case and prepare the way to large-scale production. We expect a validated pilot plant, successful pilot batches for various applications, and a wealth of documentation for further growth and scale-up. This is not just a project, it is the future of green chemistry.
We are proud to be part of this unique journey and transition to a more sustainable world.
